About Hiro

Congolese singer Hiro colors his earnest soul music with shades of hip-hop and Afro-pop. The onetime leader of Afro-beat group Bana C4, he released his solo debut, De la Haine à l'Amour, in 2017. Born in the Congo and raised in suburban Paris, Hiro (aka Hiro Le Coq) co-founded Bana C4 with friends Dibrazz Rose and Attori in 2007. They later added Bombastiik and Dck to the lineup. The group broke through with a series of mixtapes, starting with Therapy, Vol. 1, which featured the hit single "Charabia." Therapy, Vol. 2 followed in 2013. Bana C4's first studio album, Arrêt de Jeu, was delivered by Bomayé Musik in September 2014, with second album Pona Yo appearing the following year. Hiro went solo in 2016 with a handful of singles leading up to the release of De la Haine à l'Amour in 2017. Featuring the smash hit "À Découvert" with Ninho, which garnered tens of millions of online streams, Erratum followed in 2019. ~ Marcy Donelson
