About François Dumont

Pianist François Dumont has established an international solo career following prizes in several key piano competitions. He has appeared on a number of recordings as a soloist and as a member of Trio Élégiaque. Dumont's varied repertoire covers more than 50 concertos ranging from Bach and Mozart to Bartók and Messiaen, as well as much chamber and solo music. Dumont's recording debut came in 2006 with Trio Élégiaque, an album of music by Messiaen and Pascal Dusapin that earned a Diapason d'Or. His solo debut, a recording of Mozart's complete piano sonatas, came in 2009. In 2019, Dumont was heard with the Orchestre National de Lyon and conductor Leonard Slatkin on a recording of Ravel's piano concertos. In 2021, he accompanied Ransom Wilson on the album In the Age of Debussy.
