About Bill Pritchard
The dry, deadpan voice and introspective storytelling of Bill Pritchard drew comparisons to Morrissey and Lloyd Cole. Pritchard's first two LPs, Bill Pritchard (1987) and Half a Million (1988), triggered interest at Play It Again Sam, where he released Three Months, Three Weeks, & Two Days (1989). Pritchard then released the Ian Broudie-produced Jolie (1991) and formed Beatitude, a group that recorded one single, "Baby in Brylcreem." After Happiness and Other Crimes (1998), Pritchard disappeared and resurfaced seven years later with the unexpectedly electronic album By Paris by Taxi by Accident (2005). Years later, spurred on by a reconnection with Tim Bradshaw, Pritchard returned with A Trip to the Coast (2014), an album of jangly pop tunes. ~ Michael Sutton & Fred Thomas
