Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak’s Silk Sonic album has been a long time coming. Relatively speaking. The pair released the project’s first single, “Leave the Door Open”, in March of 2021, leaving eight long months that fans had to wait before hearing the rest of what the duo cooked up. It will be even longer before those same fans get to hear this music live, which, as Silk Sonic put it, is kind of the whole point. “For us, it was really just like, ‘How can we showcase everything we got with these nine songs?’” Bruno Mars told Ebro Darden in a special R&B Now sit-down with the group. “So that's why I was like, 'This is a show. This is bigger than an album, you know.
