Frankie Negron Essentials

Frankie Negron was one of the key artists in the late '90s wave of new salsa singers. The New Jersey native was raised on a musical diet of salsa, R&B, rap, and pop, with reggaetón also creeping onto his stereo in his late teens. This musical eclecticism served him well at the start of his career, with his first two albums, Con Amor Se Gana and No Me Compares, both going gold on the Latin Pop charts. Although he has also recorded in English, Negron remains best known for his spicy salsa singles, many of which are collected here.
