About Lara Fabian
Canadian-Belgian singer-songwriter and actress Lara Fabian has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. ∙ After spotting her musical talent, Fabian’s parents enrolled her in the Royal Conservatory of Brussels at age eight. ∙ At age 18, she represented Luxembourg at the 1988 Eurovision Song Contest, where she sang the soaring, operatic ballad “Croire” and earned fourth place—behind winner Celine Dion. ∙ Fabian’s self-titled 1999 English-language debut featured the chart-topping dance-pop smash “I Will Love Again.” ∙ She voiced Esmeralda in the French-Canadian release of Disney’s The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the English-language soundtrack featured her version of “God Help the Outcasts.” ∙ She’s won five Félix Awards—which celebrate independent music in Quebec—including Female Vocalist of the Year (1995) and Artist with Most Recognition Outside of Quebec (1998). ∙ A full lyric soprano, she has sung and recorded songs in 12 languages, including Hebrew, Portuguese, and Russian.
