Unwritten Law Essentials

Unwritten Law Essentials

California band Unwritten Law formed in 1990, quickly establishing themselves as one of the leading acts in the underground skate punk and pop-punk scenes. Their self-titled third album in 1998 entered the mainstream thanks to singles like "Cailin," and 2001 would bring an even bigger hit on the Billboard Alternative charts with "Seein' Red." Over the years Unwritten Law moved away from their early punk sound, even trying out synth-pop and working with hit-making songwriters like Linda Perry on 2005's Here's to the Mourning. But they returned after a long hiatus in 2011, rediscovering some of their original punk edge.
