Saybia's melodic, heartfelt rock won their dedicated following with anthemic choruses and Søren Huss' deeply personal lyricism combining to spellbinding effect. You get the sense that many songs started out with him strumming a guitar and pouring his heart out—and they retain that intimate atmosphere even when filled out with piano, synths, a driving rhythm section and delicate orchestral flourishes. There's an obvious Britpop influence underpinning these tracks, and an intelligence in the songwriting that recalls early Coldplay or Blur at their most endearingly earnest.
