Madrugada were a band loaded with musical sophistication, introspective lyrics and an impressive rhythm section that added a shadowy aura to their music. Sivert Høyem's dark baritone, enlivened by their chaotic and bluesy alt-rock sound, will remind you of legendary names like Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds or Einstürzende Neubauten. The band eventually disbanded in 2008 following seven studio albums dating from as early as 1993. Their legacy is one of outstanding quality, funereal acoustics and abrasive melancholia.
