The mellifluous melodies, charming twee appeal and finger-blur acoustic guitar skills of Eirik Glambek Bøe and Erlend Øye have made the duo one of Europe's most beloved indie acts. The release of their delicate debut Quiet Is the New Loud as Kings of Convenience in 2001 kicked off a subtle revolution among introspective acoustic acts influenced by their deft melodies that draw from Simon & Garfunkel and Belle and Sebastian. Two more landmark studio albums followed, with Øye also launching electronic side project The Whitest Boy Alive, and their influence quietly echoes to this day.
