These double-take monikered metallers, of whom Ozzy Osbourne would no doubt approve, are the band Spinal Tap always wanted to be. Black Debbath's thundering riffs kicked in with debut album Tung, Tung Politisk Rock (1999) and in the steady stream of studio LPs that followed, the foursome have churned through doom, stoner, metal and classic rock waters—while always injecting their music with a healthy sense of humour. Politicised lyrics and plenty of pomp and ceremony lend the band their USP—heavy rock served with a welcome side of laughter.
