About VOJD

A NWOBHM-influenced hard rock unit based out of Stockholm, Sweden, VOJD were founded in 2004 under the moniker Black Trip, and released two studio albums before changing their name in 2017. Citing influences like Saxon, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, and 1970s-era Scorpions, the group was founded by Joseph Tholl (vocals and bass), Peter Stjärnvind (guitar), Linus Björklund (guitar), and Jonas Wikstrand. The band released its debut long-player, Goin' Under, in 2013 via Threeman Recordings, followed by a sophomore effort, Shadowline, in 2015, the latter of which saw the group signed to Steamhammer. Wikstrand left the fold shortly after the LP's release, and the arrival of new drummer Anders Bentell prompted the band to hit refresh and change its name, though not its hard-hitting retro style. In December 2017, the newly minted VOJD dropped the single "Behind the Frame" ahead of the release of their High Roller Records debut, Outer Ocean, which arrived in February 2018. ~ James Christopher Monger
