Philipp Friedrich Böddecker

About Philipp Friedrich Böddecker

A composer who wrote sonatas for violin, basoon, eight sacred concertos, church pieces and a discourse on "basso continuo". Boddecker was a bassonist and organist who was able to communicate in vocal music a sense of the text through his arrangement and style, and, effectively employed different rhythms and harmonic methods in his compositions. His published music represents some of the earliest forms of the sonata in Germany. ~ Keith Johnson
