About Mika Miko

After Los Angeles band Dead Banana Ladies dissolved, Jenna Thornhill and Jennifer Clavin joined forces with Michelle Suarez, Jessica Clavin, and (later) Seth Densham to form Mika Miko. Their first full-length, C.Y.S.L.A.B.F., was released on iconic Pacific Northwest indie Kill Rock Stars, and laid the blueprint for their signature blend of crooked dance-cum-funk grooves and lo-fi punk, the latter inspired by first-wave hardcore bands like Reagan Youth. By 2009, they’d release follow-ups 666 and WE BE XUXA, and toured the world with bands such as Black Lips, Abe Vigoda, and Gringo Star.
