About Malkah Norwood

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. As a child, I grew up in a musical family. When the singers and musicians got together and sang gospel songs and hymns with intricate harmonies and biblical lyrics, I observed them intently developing an ear and skill for music and vocals over time. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Malkah Norwood, Malkah My first indie album was the beginning of my journey back to the Torah. While recording this album, I was of the understanding that YHWH was pronounced (Ya-hoo-ah), which I later found out was incorrect; an example of the continual learning process. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Humility (A Song of Repentance) [Psalm 51]” A song of the heart, I wrote this meditation as a prayer of confession. I was newly immersing myself in the Torah when I read Psalms 51. I instantly related to the form of repentance written in the passage, therefore, I felt compelled to do the same. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I moved to the Middle East and met various talented musicians in Egypt, Israel, and Turkey. I moved from the US to follow the ancient path. There, I developed a love for African instruments and their diverse styles of rhythm using natural materials. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? To spread the glad tidings of YHWH by His testimonies to the nations and declare the praises of YAH-Yahoshua (The Messiah) for His healing and salvation in my life and the lives of those I've grown close to along my journey on the straight and narrow
