About Mad Panda

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Zac: I didn't learn an instrument till I was 16. Sid: I'd been playing a bit. Zac: So we started Gizmo. Sid: Two guitarists and a drummer. Zac: We should've known it was mental. Sid: We had 'everything you've heard is a lie'. Zac: Good tune that. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? George Harrison, All Things Must Pass Bonus Tracks Version Tame Impala, Lonerism The Beach Boys, Pet Sounds There is this idea that we have that says all three of these albums are considerably perfect throughout, crafted with a sense of maniacal genius that lilts with a softness. They're at the same time simple, but deep and richly textured work. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “We Did Everything” Zac: I've chosen this song as it speaks of the independence of Mad Panda. We were our own engineers, writers, recorders and best friends. There was very little left that we hadn't done for ourselves, and which is how I came to pen this tune. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was at the pharmacy a couple weeks after our second or third album came out, and we were getting good numbers on the streamers, and a woman passing in her car shouted out "Bro, I love your band!" and I was just blown away by that. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We managed to cover a lot of ground, with Mad Panda, we ventured into psychedelia through to soft rock, prog-rock and even classical or acoustic compositions. We really weren't fussed about what we did, just that we did it together. Zac & Sid.
