About insaneintherainmusic

As insaneintherainmusic, musician Carlos Eiene created jazz covers of video game and anime music. Born in Bellevue, Washington and based in Boston, the Berklee College of Music student taught himself how to play the piano in the second grade. Years later, he picked up an alto saxophone, which lead to baritone sax in middle school and tenor sax in high school. He began recording jazz covers in 2012, first with the Super Mario Bros. theme and then the theme to Donkey Kong, his favorite video game. In 2014, he issued his first extended collection, Back to Your Little Roots. Released in 2015, Live at Grillby's featured jazz reworkings of songs from the Undertale soundtrack. The following year, Eiene compiled his various covers from properties like Zelda, Tetris, Attack on Titan, and Pokemon on Year 1 Remastered, Year 2 Remastered, Year 3 Collection, and Year 4. In 2017, his album of Pokemon Sun/Moon covers, Alola That Jazz, peaked at number 14 on the Billboard jazz chart. ~ Neil Z. Yeung
