Feeding People

California psych rock outfit Feeding People was formed in 2010 by Orange County singer/songwriter/natural frontwoman Jessie Jones, whose alternately sensual and explosive vocals fall somewhere between Lana Del Ray and Grace Slick. Employing a sound that draws from the apocalyptic wailing of the 13th Floor Elevators, the moody atmospherics of Esben and the Witch, and the progressive noise rock of Crystal Antlers, the band released its eponymous debut album on vinyl through Burger Records in 2011. Produced by Hanni El Khatib and Jonny Bell (Crystal Antlers), the Island Universe EP was issued by Innovative Leisure in 2013. ~ James Christopher Monger
