emptyset

Emptyset is James Ginzburg (aka Ginz) and Paul Purgas, a duo based in Bristol, England. They produce experimental techno, an alternately driving and knotty strain that draws from Germany's dub-inspired Basic Channel and Finland's more clinical Pan Sonic while connected to Bristol's bass scene. After debuting in 2007 with a pair of 12" releases, Ginzburg and Purgas issued material at a steady rate, including the albums Emptyset (Caravan, 2009), Demiurge (Subtext, 2011), and Medium (Subtext, 2012), as well as EPs for CLR and Raster-Noton. ~ Andy Kellman
