DJ Eddie Def (The Last Kreep) can easily be considered a pioneer of turntablism, creating his art through scratching and quick mixing. He began his career in San Francisco's Mission district where he met DJ Quest and DJ 2 Fresh. Def and Quest hooked up in 1988 and were joined by DJ Cue in 1991, thereby forming a trio called the Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters (now called the Bullet Proof Space Travelers). On his own, DJ Eddie Def has produced several solo LPs featuring some of the craziest breakbeats and drum-loop combinations ever heard. ~ Brad Mills
