About Agustin Pereyra Lucena

Agustín Pereyra Lucena was an Argentinian guitarist and composer. Much admired by the likes of Vinícius de Moraes, Baden Powell, and Toquinho for the way in which he infused bossa nova with tango, jazz, and French Impressionism influences, Pereyra released the first of his eight solo albums in 1970. In the course of a four-decade-spanning career, Pereyra toured the world as a solo performer, as a member of the Candeais and Trio de Janeiro ensembles, or as a supporting musician for Brazilian icons such as Carlos Lyra, Miúcha, Quarteto Em Cy, Celia Vaz, Dori and Nanna Caymmi, and many others. He passed away in 2019 after a long illness.
