About Ace Tha Don
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I wrote my first verse at 13. Before that I had a 'rhyme book' I'd filled with Eminem's lyrics. My Name Is was my introduction to Hiphop when it dropped, before my palette was broadened. Slaughterhouse had as much influence on my pen a decade later. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Ace Tha Don, Plus I Rap Good Nas, Illmatic Snoop Dogg, Tha Last Meal Nas’ Illmatic is unarguably one of the greatest hiphop records of all time so instantly has to be in the conversation. Snoop Dogg's Tha Last Meal was the first album I ever owned. My own album makes the list because I am proud of my own body of work. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Legend” I love my song Legend because it was somewhat a 'leap of faith' for me. I had a vision I felt only I could execute best. It is the only song in my catalog I did absolutely everything on (with help on production from Kevin Grands and Shatzy K). A gem! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? In 2020 I reached out to Fred The Godson. He liked my music, and was to feature on Go Flex. Unfortunately he passed right before it happened (RIP), but getting a stamp of approval from one of the best lyricists ever will always be a cherished memory.
