Two of the most intense artists Australia has ever produced were destined to collide. Songwriter Nick Cave and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis (of post-rock pioneers Dirty Three) have been musical partners in crime since Ellis joined The Bad Seeds in the early ‘90s. On the side, they’ve created feverish and transcendent music, composing emotionally wrenching scores and songs for films like The Road (“The Beach”) and Lawless (the gritty Americana of “Fire in the Blood/Snake Song”). The duo’s full-length debut—the baroque CARNAGE—arrived in 2021 with transcendent tunes like the melancholy “Balcony Man”.
