Veteran musician and songwriter Jon Randall’s production bridges the gap between classic country and new-school fare, adding in a dusky, atmospheric touch. With Dierks Bentley’s “Burning Man”, he puts some extra muscle into an already big roots sound, and on Parker McCollum’s “Pretty Heart”, he takes a lonesome ballad and builds it up with a soaring, lush arrangement. In 2022, he was at the helm for longtime collaborator Miranda Lambert’s Palomino, adding both twangy and breezy flourishes to songs like “If I Was a Cowboy”.
