Starting his career as an engineer at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in the early '70s, John Leckie absorbed the sonic signatures of classic rock, which he then imparted to the alternative and indie bands he began producing. From the pop classicism of XTC and The Stone Roses to the forward-looking experimentation of Radiohead, Leckie's had a hand in some of the best British music of recent decades.
