Jake Bugg: Influences

Jake Bugg: Influences

Jake Bugg's malcontented, genre-spanning sound pulls from skiffle, blues, rock, indie and folk. The raw-edged growl of Howlin' Wolf's “Killing Floor” foreshadowed his husky vocals and blues grooves, while The Beatles' hooks sowed the seeds of Bugg's poppier melodies. And, of course, Oasis' bad-boy swagger and supercharged Britpop guitars paved the way for his strutting indie songwriting.
