Inspired by Roky Erickson

Psychedelic explorer, proto-punk and outsider bard, Roky Erickson has been many things to many different musicians. The Black Angels' big, fuzzy throbber “I'd Kill for Her” soaks up the acidic reverberations of The 13th Floor Elevators, while Dead Moon's wiry rocker “Black September” channels his stripped-down riffing with The Aliens. Daniel Johnston's alt-pop gem “Love Wheel” taps the same surreal charm as Erickson's solo folk ditties.
