Editors' Notes In the late '80s, Galaxie 500 helped to launch a quiet revolution in indie rock, rejecting speed and noise in favour of a fragile and languid sound. The Boston-based trio took inspiration from offbeat art-psych collective Red Krayola, left-of-centre classic rocker Neil Young, proto-punks Television, first-wave indie outfit The Feelies and dream pop pioneers Cocteau Twins, among others.
