Camilo Essentials

Blessed with one of Latin pop’s most distinctive voices, Colombian singer/songwriter Camilo Echeverry stood out for his feathery singing on his 2010 debut, Tráfico de Sentimientos. (He cites Uruguay’s gentle-voiced Jorge Drexler as an influence.) Eight years later, after taking a break from performing—and writing hits for Bad Bunny, Becky G. and Natti Natasha—he traded pop-rock for romantic reggaetón on 2018’s “Desconocidos”. The shift worked: the exuberantly mustachioed singer released the beachy, playful hit “La Boca” in 2019, followed in 2020 by his second album, Por Primera Vez, with its effervescent smash “Tutu”.
