Equally influenced by the outsider pop of R. Stevie Moore and the slick sound of late '70s yacht rock, Ariel Pink exists in a netherworld between the experimental underground and vintage Top 40 hits. Pink began his career making home recordings that he originally self-released. After a stint with Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label, Pink signed to 4AD. 2010's Before Today presented a more polished version of his signature sound, refined further on the acclaimed Mature Themes. 2014's pom pom found Pink returning to his more eccentric early sound.
