The Ariel Pink catalogue is a bottomless well of pop ingenuity/lunacy. In its deepest recesses you'll find lush soft rock embedded with spoken-word fairy tales (“Exile On Frog Street”) and synth-funk dissolutions of signature songs (the Dam-Funk “re-freak” of “Fright Night”). And then there are lo-fi curios like “Good Kids Make Bad Grown Ups”, which sounds like a ‘70s pop-radio station blaring out from underneath a mass of nuclear waste.
