About Victor Heredia

Singer/songwriter Víctor Heredia decided to pursue music studies at a young age, learning how to play piano and guitar. Soon after, the young musician began participating in different radio shows, winning a folkloric festival called Revelación Juvenil with his song "Para Cobrar Altura," in 1967. Later, his composition "El Viejo Matias" became his first smash, recording an album called Gritando Esperanzas, released by RCA in 1968. During the 1970s, the artist was regularly invited to important music events such as Peruvian Agua Dulce Festival and Chilean Viña del Mar Festival. In 1984, Víctor Heredia had the opportunity to sing along with Silvio Rodríguez and Pablo Milanés at Buenos Aires' Obras Saninarias and in 1988 for the first time at New York's Carnegie Hall along with Mercedes Sosa. ~ Drago Bonacich
