About Night Gestalt

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember sitting by our piano when I was 10 or 11 years old. I pressed down the keys C, E and G and was instantly warped to another world. Shortly after that I bought my first synthesizer and started experimenting with sounds. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Daniel Lanois, Goodbye to Language Steve Reich Ensemble, Reich: Music for 18 Musicians The Black Dog, Spanners The song Chesh from Spanners is the most influential piece of electronic music ever for me. Steve Reich is the maestro when it comes to creating a compositional process, following it, and then skipping it - because it sounds better without it. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “False Azure” This music is about light. I wrote and recorded it following the gradients of the coming spring in Sweden. It's built around a prepared piano and some lonely bleeps, but I think the space between the notes is even more important. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Any ordinary day in the studio. Working with music is going from silence to something - and being a witness to that process is nothing but magic. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Compose music for space, and then be able to somehow send it out in one copy only, without anyone on earth hearing it.
