Ensemble Aurora

About Ensemble Aurora

Ensemble Aurora was founded in 1986 by violinist Enrico Gatti to perform Baroque repertoire. Basing its instrumental format on Arcangelo Corelli's chamber sonatas, which called for violin, recorder, bassoon, and harpsichord, the group has concentrated on works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Antonio Vivaldi, Alessandro Scarlatti, Alessandro Stradella, and Johann Heinrich Schmelzer, among other Baroque composers. Ensemble Aurora has recorded for Tactus, Arcana, Glossa, and Brilliant Classics.
