About Cassard

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My earliest memories are musical. At age 2, I could identify and fetch any record in our family's collection by the label or cover design. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Christopher Parkening, Parkening Plays Bach David Crosby, If I Could Only Remember My Name (50th Anniversary Edition) [2021 Remaster] Tori Amos, Scarlet's Walk (2023 Remaster) A weird trio of LPs for sure. Tori created one of the best, grooviest "singer-songwriter" albums ever. Parkening's is my all-time favorite guitar-only LP. And Crosby's masterpiece was decades ahead of its time. This album taught me to layer vocals. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “10,000 Flowers” This is a love song, written for and with my soul mate Bara Waters. It was inspired by John Lennon's gorgeous ballad "Because," and the Beatles' layered choir-like harmonies. I layered 13 tracks of my own voice to create this wall of sound. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? When "Over the Line" was released in 1980, I visited some friends in California and we went to a random party in Berkeley. When we walked in, my album was playing. I felt like I'd "made it." Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The bucket is BIG; the list is long. I have new songs brewing, and I'm determined to catch up by mixing, mastering and releasing songs I've neglected. Also very excited about the future of my duo, Cosmic Spin. Soundtrack placements!
