Barzaz is one of Brittany's most innovative bands, producing unmistakably Breton music on instruments that are imports to the Breton scene. Jean-Michel Veillon's wooden flute, Gilles Le Bigot's guitar, Alain Genty's fretless bass, and David Hopkins' bamboo flutes and percussion are a perfect foil for Yann-Fanch Kemener's vocals, the one truly traditional aspect of Barzaz's sound. ~ Steve Winick
