About Adi Dick

Adi Dick is a hard-working New Zealand musician and producer who has worked with several bands as well as having a successful solo career. While studying graphic design, Dick worked in record stores in Wellington and then went on to join the blues and roots band Stylus 77 (later called Seven Suns) as their singer and guitarist. They released a mini-album also called Stylus 77 on Capitol Records in 2003. In 2005, he took part in the Fly My Pretties' collaborative project organized by Barnaby Weir of the Black Seeds, working on the album Return of Fly My Pretties and the related tour. That year he also recorded a solo EP in his bedroom (Noise in Your Stereo) as a statement of the future direction he'd be taking with him when attending the Red Bull Music Academy in Seattle. Returning to New Zealand, he formed the group Sons of Puha with himself on vocals, MPC, and guitar, as well as finishing a full-length solo album, Our Place, released in 2007 on Loop Recordings. He also found time to tour with reggae/jazz band Fat Freddy's Drop as a backing singer, and add vocal contributions to songs by Ishfaq before moving to London. ~ Jody Macgregor
