- With the yearning tenor of Danny Mejia upfront and star producer Sergio George (of Marc Anthony fame) in charge, Xtreme's formal debut can do no wrong. The opening track, "Te Extraño", is so nice they did it twice—a bachata version with guitars and percussion, and an R&B version with glossy synths. The two styles are fused on "Caricias", a bachata with R&B-styled harmonies. Mejia's silky vocals are always persuasive, and you get to hear him emote in English on the sly come-on "Pardon Me".

About Xtreme
Formed in 2003, American vocal group Xtreme scored several hits with their modern take on Dominican bachata music. ∙ Producer and label owner Andre “Dre” Hidalgo brought the original Xtreme lineup together in 2003 around the talents of 17-year-old vocalist Danny “Danny-D” Mejia. ∙ They first began to build a national following with their self-titled 2005 album, which featured the hit “Te Extraño.” ∙ Haciendo Historia, released in 2006, was their breakthrough album, selling over 100,000 copies and reaching No. 13 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. ∙ In 2006, they won the New Soloist or Group of the Year award at Lo Nuestro Awards, which annually celebrate the best in Latin music. ∙ Xtreme scored a No. 2 hit on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart with 2007’s “Shorty, Shorty.” ∙ In 2009, the group (now just a duo of Danny-D and Steve Styles) starred in their own Spanish TV reality series, Xtreme: on the Verge.
