Inspired by Jeff Beck

Jeff Beck's bold innovations are central to hard rock's evolution. Two of his first disciples are Joe Perry, who weaves Beck's spacey talk box into Aerosmith's boogie beast “Sweet Emotion”, and Duane Allman, whose weepy fuzz in the jazzy “Dreams” echoes his guitar effects. Joe Satriani's manically squawking “Surfing With the Alien” is proof that Beck's eccentric harmonics and feedback are building blocks for instrumental hard rock.
