Grover Washington, Jr.: Deep Cuts

Grover Washington, Jr.: Deep Cuts

Grover Washington, Jr., developed his mastery of woodwind sounds and styles in part from his work as a sideman with countless jazz and funk greats, often on little-known collabs. He contributes a tenor sax soliloquy to the densely layered, mystery-laden landscape of Randy Weston's “Night in Medina” with master trumpeter Freddie Hubbard; in “Free As a Bird”, his alto sax guides the flock of horns jamming with vibraphonist Milt Jackson.
