Glen Campbell Essentials

“A subway token and a dollar tucked inside my shoe”. Glen Campbell was the original "Rhinestone Cowboy", a shining crossover hero with a voice as smooth as warm honey. His decades' worth of smash hits helped define country-pop and opened the door for contemporary country stars like Vince Gill, Tim McGraw and Brad Paisley. Campbell was a session guitarist for everyone from Elvis Presley to Frank Sinatra before turning his voice to Jimmy Webb's haunting pop soliloquies, making masterpieces of tunes like "Galveston" and "Wichita Lineman”. In June 2011, Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He set upon a 151-date goodbye tour, captured in the documentary Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me. In 2017, he released one last single, “Adiós”, a fitting farewell that capped a career on his terms.
