Foetus Essentials

J.G. Thirlwell, a native of Melbourne, Australia, resettled in London at the dawn of the post-punk era. He began his career with '81's Deaf under the moniker You've Got Foetus On Your Breath, which he shortened to Foetus in the '90s. Combining industrial electronics, grinding guitars and unhinged vocals, the group were often aggressively abrasive, even by the standards of the burgeoning experimental noise-rock scene. But as Thirlwell progressed, he began adding new influences, eclectic collaborations and more delicate textures into his trademark sound.
