Whether he’s playing Le Mellotron in Paris or Boiler Room in London, DJ FloFilz’s mellow jazz mixes evoke a vivid sense of place. He was raised by two musicians and studied the violin in Germany but discovering A Tribe Called Quest in 2012 led to a love of beats. His 2013 track “Gitdown” went viral and he dropped his debut album Dialog in 2014. With smooth saxophone on “Ramen for Breakfast” and the delicate guitar that defines “Dulce”, his records are inspired by the cities where he crafts his beats.
