Albrecht Mayer Essentials

Albrecht Mayer Essentials

Best known as the principal oboe of the Berlin Philharmonic, Albrecht Mayer's first job was with the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra. He moved to Berlin in 1992 and has graced the ensemble with his sweet, flexible playing ever since: the BPO has always had a magnificent wind section, and along with flautist Emmanuel Pahud, he has continued the tradition. He also enjoys a solo career and has made a number of best-selling albums of Baroque repertoire as well as modern French wind music. Thanks to Berlin's Digital Concert Hall, his face is almost as well known as his playing.
