In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. My parents were both musical so music was always around us growing up. My best memories of them together always involved music so I create music to keep them both close to me that they've both passed on. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Mareko, White Sunday Scribe, The Crusader Tipene, Heritage Trail Aotearoa Hip Hop Classics. These albums to me are the pinnacle of lyricism, production and conceptual brilliance. Heritage Trail is my own album which sounds bias but take a listen and you will feel what I'm saying. Tipene Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Tamariki (feat. Dad)” This is a very special collaboration between my dad and I. My dad is my real life hero and everything he taught me carved my character to the man I am today. I played this track at his funeral and it was so powerful like he was right there. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Collaborating with my dad is up there, now that he is no longer with us I listen to this song and play it to my kids to remind them about him Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, I would love to perform a show at Raiatea in Tahiti where our people originated from. That would the greatest achievement for me to make that connection.
