About Peach PRC

Australian confessionalist Peach PRC rode social-media-borne stardom and obsessively detailed production techniques into hyperpop’s upper echelons. Born Shaylee Jade Curnow in 1998, Peach PRC rechristened herself after the Super Mario universe’s Princess Peach and a social-media-ready abbreviation for “porcelain”. She first hit music obsessives’ radar with the 2019 single “Blondes”, a flirty, guitar-laced come-on to a friend that quickly became an online smash. Her second single, “Colourblind”, a blippy synth-pop cut inspired in part by her synesthesia, showcases her precisely detailed lyrics, while its homemade feel allows listeners to hear the joy she derives from making music. Peach PRC signed to Republic Records in the early 2020s, and her 2021 debut single for the label, “Josh”, blends witheringly profane lyrics about a no-good ex with bubbly keyboard bursts and a giddy vocal. Peach PRC doubles up on catharsis by pairing confessional lyrics with undeniable synth-pop instincts, making her an ideal upstart for the anything-goes 2020s.
