In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Getting the Boss Micro BR 4 track recorder for my 13th Birthday, that little device started everything for me, recording in drums, guitars and vocals to try and make songs. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Angels & Airwaves, We Don't Need to Whisper (UK Version) UK Version Port Blue, The Airship blink-182, Enema of the State / Take Off Your Pants and Jacket / Blink-182 These 5 records all completely changed the way I thought and felt about music, when each one came out, they each added some new component of sound that I wanted to try and draw from in my own music. WDNTW awakened to me to a sense of scale and awe. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Waiting” I love this song because it signified my attitude in my teens, sitting about dreaming some label would come to my door and sign me, in the end I had to work for over a decade to get my first label release, never give up! What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Touring the UK twice in a tiny van with Inherit The Stars was a big one for me, and my first release as Parkbench was also a day I had been waiting for my whole life. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I want to challenge the norms of the lofi sound, combining interesting elements from other genres as well as my vocals to be able to communicate more articulated messages to people, things they already feel when hearing the music.
