Leslie Jones is an actress and comedian born in Memphis in 1967. Jones moved to New York after graduating from college and tried to break into the stand-up comedy circuit. After some difficult beginnings, her career began to take off in 2010 when she recorded a one-hour special for Showtime. Mainstream recognition arrived in 2013 when she joined the Saturday Night Live cast. While she had previously worked in film, her newly acquired celebrity status allowed her to land bigger roles in movies such as Top Five (2014), Sing! (2016), Trainwreck (2015), and especially the 2016 Ghostbusters remake.
