Forrest

This US soul group was based around lead singer Forrest Thomas (b. 1953, USA). Despite finding little success in the US national pop or R&B charts, in 1983, the group achieved two UK hits on CBS Records with ‘Rock The Boat’ (formerly a hit for the Hues Corporation in 1974) which reached number 4, and the follow-up, ‘Feel The Need In Me’, reached the Top 20 that same year (previously a hit for the Detroit Emeralds in 1973). By the end of the year, Forrest’s brief chart success came to a halt when ‘One Lover (Don’t Stop The Show)’ failed to climb higher than number 67. Subsequently, Thomas (and Forrest) faded from the scene.
