Andrus, Blackwood & Co

About Andrus, Blackwood & Co

A US 70s gospel group led by Sherman Andrus and Terry Blackwood, Andrus, Blackwood And Co were formed after both had left the Imperials. They had already begun experimenting on work together while members of that band, and under their creative guidance the Imperials became a tremendously popular live and studio group. With the help of Karen Voegtin (vocals), Bill Egtlin (keyboards/vocals), Bob Villareal (guitar/vocals), Tim Marsh (drums) and Rocky Laughlin (bass), Andrus, Blackwood And Co made their debut for Greentree Records in 1977. A hit on the US Contemporary Christian charts, it was succeeded by Following You two years later. This featured songs drawn from such established gospel songwriters as Tim Sheppard, Phil Johnson and Reba and Dony McGuire. Blackwood also continued to work as a duo with sister Kaye in Memphis, while Sherman also performs solo on college campuses around his base in Oklahoma City.
